Birdworld Kuranda
Do you fancy seeing birds up close or even touching or feeding them? If your answer is yes, then the Birdworld Kuranda is the best place to visit.
The Birdworld Kuranda has one of the biggest collections of flying birds in Australia. It is located in Cairns, in the northern part of Queensland, Australia. It is settled in the Australian Atherton Tablelands, where a series of lush rainforests can be found. This wonderful tourist attraction is popular because it boasts a display of more than 75 species of rare and endangered birds, a total of 500 birds, from all over the world.
The bird sanctuary is the home of unique and endangered animals from the planet. It is the haven of waterbirds such as herons, stilts and Australia's own Black Swan. Other birds found inside Birdworld Kuranda are the blue, gold and scarlet Macaws and the rare Australian Cassowary.
The bird sanctuary is designed to resemble a lush tropical rainforest. As such, birds are left to wander and grow within their natural habitat. The sanctuary is an Eden for photographers and nature lovers as there are two lakes linked by a flowing waterfall that are the home of the astonishing waterbirds. There is also an abundance of giant trees - giving the place a genuine rainforest ambiance.
What's unique about the Birdworld Kuranda is that visitors can wander and walk freely on the green and tropical landscaped bird paradise in order to interact and view the birds in their specific and natural habitats. This original approach in bird-watching enables visitors to interact with the birds without the hassle of their cages. This gives the birds enough freedom to act naturally, hence, ensuring that visitors will have a rare chance to photograph their favorite birds in their natural state and habitat.
