Rainforest Skyrail to Kuranda

Tropical rainforests are famous in the city of Cairns of Queensland, Australia, being one of the most frequented attractions by tourists and locals. But rainforests are best experienced when you're some height over them, viewing the panoramic greeneries and smelling the air with fresh scent from forest trees. That's when Skyrail Rainforest Cableway comes to action, providing you with a cable-travel service to experience the most amazing botanical system. Gliding in a cabin, you'll view a 7.5-kilometer part of the country's ancient rainforests. The whole travel requires one and a half hours, with the Kuranda Terminal as the final destiny; meanwhile, a travel back to Cairns City runs for two to two and a half hours.

Passing the Caranovica Terminal and the Red Peak Station, the gondola cabin will stop over at the second mid-station, the Barron Falls. From there, Barron Gorge's images depict a chasm with rich vegetation -- surely a spectacle, though not overpowering enough the equally magical cinematic view of the Barron Falls. The falls itself provides you with historical tidbits as these have been sheltering pieces of equipment utilized in the hydroelectric construction site located in the area years ago.

Also available in the station are top-grade computers, rainforests videos and photos to provide you with extensive information about the rainforests. These are gathered and prepared by the Rainforest Interpretation Centre, the country's high-caliber scientific research team, which is located at the station itself.

Right after passing several mountains and the Barron River, the cabin will arrive at the Kuranda Terminal, which is some walks apart from the community of Kuranda. This "Village in the Rainforest" appears to be as fascinating as the voyage because of its butterfly gardens and bird aviary along with food shops. With these offerings and more, having to experience the rainforests journey and reaching the destination are worth the skyrail rainforest ride.
