Boonooloo Beach House
On the northern front of Port Douglas lies Newell Beach, a vast three-and-a-half kilometres of pure unspoiled white sand beautifully divided into about a dozen different beach houses. Of these, Boonooloo Beach House towers above all, as it features a perfect mix of exotic Balinese art and lush Queensland decor as envisioned by Queensland architect par excellance Chris Van Dyke.
With its wide selection of places to see and its proximity to major transportation systems, it is no wonder why many people regard Boonooloo as the ultimate beach front. The immaculate white sands surrounding the beach house enveloping the nearby Coral Sea is just an appetizer of what tourists can expect when settling at Boonooloo.
From Port Douglas, one can reach the Boonooloo Beach House in just about 20 minutes. On the other hand, if one is coming off a plane landing at Cairns International Airport, getting to the beach house should take about an hour of driving across picturesque coastal scenery.
The Boonooloo Beach House affords a fantastic view of several scenic areas, including the Low Isles, the Snapper Island National Park, and the acknowledged tourist spot of Tropical North Queensland, Port Douglas. All around, rows of palm trees provide the perfect shade against warm sunshine during the day and an excellent cover during cool moonlit nights.
Inside the beach house, two large bedrooms welcome excited guests, with a third bedroom standing by as support. Ochre-colored walls complement a set of timber furniture, while a fully functional kitchen stands quietly nearby. Its bathrooms finished in marble come with various accessories including cabinets set in timber. Meanwhile, outside Boonooloo, several natural and man-made attractions are eagerly awaiting to provide unforgettable encounters to the guests. Northward, the World Heritage-protected Daintree Rainforest can be reached after a very brief drive. On the southern front, the Mossman Gorge is waiting to be explored, while straight ahead is Mossman town, with its cheap, but inexpensive market. A good alternative is Scommazons, which regularly offer fresh tropical fruits.
Staying within Newell Beach, especially since a lot of activities are always happening here, include early morning jogs, kayaking, swimming, or just simply dosing off in outdoor hammocks. For a more exciting action, one can try visiting the elegant Mossman Golf Course made of 18 holes which can be reached via a two-minute drive.
