Four Mile Beach

Australia is a continent that is known for its amazing beaches and varied marine life. Many people from abroad head off to Australia each year just to take advantage of its natural wonders.  Port Douglas, one of the key tourist destinations in the country, has its share of great beaches that are favorites of different kinds of people. The place is a great spot to relax and take a leisurely stroll along the powdery-white sand while the sultry yet gentle breeze plays with the lush trees lining the beach. Swimming, sunbathing, sail boarding, surfing and parasailing are just some of the few things one can do here.  Aside from that, children can explore the area and even catch small crabs to play with. Despite the fact that there are many people who visit the Four Mile Beach, it does not show signs of being too commercialised. As a matter of fact, the many houses and other accommodations in front of the beach are strategically hidden from plain view by the large, swaying palm trees. Tourism is very big in Four Mile Beach, and the local government is making sure that its facilities and the environment are kept in top, functioning condition so that the future generations can enjoy it still.

One thing that tourists must be aware of is that the Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas always holds up stinger nets during the season of the stingers (jelly fish). This is to ensure that these creatures won't be able to swim close to shore and attack the swimmers. Once these stinger nets are all in position, swimmers are restricted from going beyond these barriers.
